Trackback requirement

Greetings, Again, I have messed up. I posted the comment without having any knowledge of the trackback feature, which means that I posted it directly onto Amy’s blog, without it being traceable to me. Thus I have to repost it with the trackback feature, so that I can and will get credit for this. Although I would agree completely that the majority of Americans do need to have functional literacy and cultural literacy, I would also declare that the majority of Americans also need critical literacy. This country, a Capitalistic, Liberal Republic, was founded on the idea that people could, and should, strive to become better than the lot their parents gave them. In order to do this, people need to be able to logically think through issues, and pick the side that would benefit them the most. Although this would create large amounts of strife in American Society to begin with, once people have achieved what they can, the strife will diminish, and the resulting society will be much fairer and much better off than our current one. This society would produce great thinkers not just from certain backgrounds, but from all backgrounds. In conclusion, I believe that each individual that comes into the State’s educational system, should be provided with the opportunity to have an education that will allow him to not only survive in the real world, but have the potential to improve his own social and economic standings Chris Bauer
